Book the Chorus

Bring SFGMC to your event

Invite us to perform

Invite the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus or one of our vocal ensembles to your community gathering, private celebration, nonprofit benefit or corporate event. Outreach is part of our mission, and we welcome opportunities to bring people together through music. Our singers are volunteers, so please submit your request at least 45 days before your event.

Plan Your Appearance

Before you request a performance

Most appearances require an honorarium. Benefits for nonprofit organizations may be exceptions, although certain costs can still apply.

  • Requests require at least 45 days of lead time.
  • Performances generally take place on weekday evenings or weekends; normal weekday business hours are usually unavailable.
  • A standard appearance is 10–15 minutes, not a full-length concert.
  • SFGMC performs its established repertoire and does not provide custom repertoire or background music.
  • We ask to appear near the beginning of the event.
  • Please do not serve food immediately before or during the performance.
  • Outdoor performances require appropriate weather and proper amplification.

Please plan to provide:

  • A secure green room with water for singers and their belongings.
  • A full-size, 88-key piano or weighted electric piano with a damper pedal, built-in music stand and the ability to be amplified. Electric pianos need a proper stand—no X-style stands—and a bench.
  • Piano and conductor’s stand lights if the room will be dark.
  • A conductor’s music stand and platform, plus chorus risers or platforms when possible.
  • Four to six condenser microphones, depending on group size; up to two solo microphones on stands when needed.
  • Stage and keyboard monitors for foldback.

HomoPhonics performs a cappella and does not require a piano. If your venue cannot provide a piano, SFGMC can supply a keyboard for the $250 cartage fee stated on the request form.
