We look back at Season 47 with gratitude for a truly exceptional few months that began with our joyful Holiday Spectacular and ended onstage in front of hundreds of thousands with Big Freedia herself! Throughout, we celebrated inclusivity, honored San Francisco’s progressive legacy, and found the strength to work for a brighter future—together.

Highlights from the 2024–25 season

The Holiday Spectacular opened at the Sydney Goldstein Theater on December 6 and 7, 2024, with the theme “Together.” The San Francisco Bay Times described a packed, 90-minute program that mixed holiday music, humor, and audience participation. Home for the Holidays moved to Davies Symphony Hall for Christmas Eve while the Castro Theatre remained closed for renovation.

The spring brought another milestone: “Broadway, Our Way” on March 29, 2025, marked the Chorus’s first performances at the Curran Theater. In his Bay Area Reporter interview, Artistic Director Jacob Stensberg explained that the program was designed to offer both joyful escape and a response to the moment. The repertoire included “Anything Goes,” “Masquerade,” and selections from “Chicago,” with a planned finale of “Keep Marching” from “Suffs.”

From holiday traditions to a new stage for Broadway favorites, these programs show the range of music and community connection celebrated in this season’s retrospective.
