For the 1996 holidays, the chorus shared the stage with a much younger group of singers.

“Stars: Songs From the Galaxy”

The Sunday Examiner & Chronicle’s Datebook reported that the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus was teaming up with the San Francisco Boys Chorus for “Stars: Songs From the Galaxy,” a holiday concert of traditional music and comic sketches at the Masonic Auditorium on December 15, 1996. The program included the “Starleluia Chorus” and a guest turn by Madame Stolichnaya singing “The 12 Astrological Signs of Christmas.” It was the first collaboration between the two choruses.

The item also noted the chorus’s Christmas Eve tradition, “Home for the Holidays” at the Castro Theatre, with shows at 5, 7 and 9 p.m.
