On May 24, 2022, 19 children and two teachers were killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Days later, members of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus shared a video of themselves singing a traditional blessing in their memory, hands resting on one another’s shoulders.

Queerty’s David Hudson reported that the video, posted on the chorus’s TikTok, had been viewed more than 750,000 times.

“When words fail us, that’s when we sing.”
