Dennis Coleman served as an SFGMC guest conductor in 1985. Contemporary reporting describes his appointment as interim conductor and his weekly commute from Seattle to work with the Chorus during its search for a permanent director.

Coleman led Seattle Men’s Chorus for 35 years and founded Seattle Women’s Chorus, retiring from both in 2016. His SFGMC service reflects the close musical ties among the pioneering LGBTQ choruses.
