Teddy Basham-Witherington served as Executive Director of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus from 2006 to 2012. During his six-year tenure, he helped lead the organization through pivotal national moments, including shepherding the Chorus on its groundbreaking California Freedom Tour in the wake of Proposition 8.
Born in London, Teddy spent a decade specializing in non-profit and private client law before serving as Executive Director of the London Lesbian and Gay Pride Committee. After a worldwide search in 1997, he was named the first-ever Executive Director of the San Francisco Pride Committee, transforming the event into a multi-cultural festival and granting nearly $900,000 back to community groups. He subsequently served in leadership roles at Out & Equal Workplace Advocates and as Deputy Director of the Impact Fund.
